It was on the day of the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth that the world was told of the successful ascent of Mount Everest, which had taken place 29 May 1953.
2012 has proved exciting, and I think 2013 will be even more interesting.
Congratulations to Kenton Cool, who took a gold medal, awarded in 1924, to the summit of Everest.
