Paths of Glory
As usual with Jeffrey Archer's works, the book has shot into the charts and has proved very popular. In various television and newspaper interviews, the author describes his interest in the early Everest expeditions, and the amount of research involved in writing the novel, which is, apparently, 80% fact and 20% fiction, and makes an intriguing story.

To illustrate the last-known position of Mallory and Irvine in 1924, a diagram from the John Noel Photographic Collection has been used. Who would have thought that a Noel image would be incorporated into a popular 2009 novel!
